Today we visited the mesa elephant camp in Chiang Mai. The camp was started in 1976 by Mr. Choochart Kalmapijit. It is located on more than 100 rais (about 40 acres) of land and they grow grasses, sugar-cave, bananas, and coconut trees to help feed the elephants. On top of all that they still have to bring in 6 tons of food per day...WOW!!!
We enjoyed feeding the elephants bananas and getting lots of sloppy kisses. Riding on the elephants was so relaxing and unlike anything we have ever experienced. These are truly majestic animals!!
